About Our Dial-up Network

To provide our customers with the best possible internet connection we can, we are using the best technologies available to us. Please read further for more detail.

Managed Port Service

Many of the nations largest ISPs no longer own and operate their networks, electing instead to use systems similar to ours.

Our Managed Port Service (MPS) provider is state-of-the-art. Their networks provide a reliable Internet Connection, improved Internet connection success rate, better Internet performance, and more.

Also their engineers have created a ring design that provides a reliable connection to the Internet that is monitored 24 hours a day using a non-intrusive network monitoring system, with self-diagnostic capabilities that can identify and even resolve problems before we are even aware of any service disruption. And just in case, they have automatic switched backup of power and electronics.

The Internet Is Broken?

The Internet is a great utility, but it is not perfect. Why? Because the Internet isn’t a single network — it’s a network of networks. To get from point A to point B, most Internet traffic has to pass across multiple networks.

This results in problems because most Internet Service Providers have little to no control over these multiple networks. So your data has no specific path to take. This results in a slower transmission of data to and from your computer.

Our Solution

GDICOM’s Managed Port Service provider helps eliminate some of these problems. They use technology designed by a company called Internap (www.internap.com).

Internap has created an innovative way of using the existing Internet network infrastructure to route your data and avoid the Internet’s points of congestion.

To do this Internap has built an Overlay Network that is armed with intelligent routing technology to get your data from point A to point B in the fastest, most reliable and least-congested path possible.
Unlike some Internet access providers who randomly choose public Network Access Points (NAP’s) or private peering points, Internap’s routing technology sends your data out along the correct Internet backbone immediately, through their Private Network Access Point (P-NAP) facilities.

And to compliment Internap’s technology, our Managed Port Service provider employ’s Electric Lightwave’s Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) long haul fiber optic backbone system that is capable of transmitting 2.4 gigabits of data per second, or the equivalent of the entire contents of the Library of Congress in less than a minute.

Electric Lightwave Inc. (www.eli.net), is consistently rated one of the nation’s top Internet backbone providers by Boardwatch Magazine. ELI builds and operates all-digital, high-speed fiber optic networks for businesses and long distance carriers across the United States.
